A tourism accessible to all
Accessible holidays are, for all people in a situation of disability or temporarily prevented, offers of accommodation that can be adapted to their expectations.
Tourism & Handicap
In addition to the Gîtes de France label, accommodation can receive the Tourisme et Handicap label. This one is granted to the lodgings, rooms of hosts and group lodgings which answer very precise criteria. Vacation rentals can be certified as being suitable for one or more of the four major types of disabilities identified:
- Hearing impairment
- Visual impairment
- Motor disability
- Mental disability
- Sensor disability
The aim is to make tourism accessible and comfortable for everyone by taking into account certain special needs.
The obtaining of the Tourism and Handicap label results on a voluntary approach on the part of the accomodations’ owners, also it is about a real commitment on their part and a real will to propose a reception of quality to a disabled clientele. The evaluation criteria are numerous and specific to each disability.
